Linda Strand
Board Member
Ms. Strand is a founding member of the Board of Directors of the Friends of San Marcos Parks and has been a resident since 1997. She chose the city because of the open space, parks and trails for hiking.
Linda has been an active volunteer since joining the community and is currently a member of Rotary San Marcos. In previous years she has held leadership roles with Palomar College, San Diego North Economic Development Council, California State University San Marcos and she has co-chaired many women’s business leadership programs.
A recently retired executive in the solar industry, Linda can dedicate more time to her community. Her educational background includes an undergraduate degree in natural resource management from California State University, Sacramento and graduate studies from California State University, Fullerton. She is also a former employee of the California State Department of Parks and Recreation.
She enjoys hiking, yoga and cooking. Her dedication to the protection of the open space in the city of San Marcos is demonstrated daily in her service as a Board Member.
